Worth knowing: the free online planner already works out sowing dates for the crops in a bed you draw. The 2027 planner does that for all 40 crops at once, prints them as dated to-do lists for the whole year, and adds the plans, charts and logs above. If one bed and its dates is all you need, the free planner and the free printable pack are enough.

Before you buy

  • A last frost date is an average, not a promise. Always check the forecast before planting frost-tender crops.
  • Harvest dates are shown only for crops sown or planted straight into the bed (see the questions below).
  • Companion planting is traditional guidance, and much of it is not settled science. The pairings are suggestions.
  • Garlic's date uses a rough rule (26 weeks after the spring frost); its own instruction - plant 4-6 weeks before your first fall frost - is printed next to it.
  • The calendars are built around a spring frost. If your garden rarely or never freezes, they will not fit it.

Questions

How do I know which calendar is mine?

Look up your last spring frost date by ZIP code (the planner names the sources and shows how to read them), then use the calendar whose range includes it. Each calendar is within 8 days of any date in its range; there is also a worksheet for dates outside Feb 8 to Jun 8.

Where do the dates come from?

Every date is your frost date plus each crop's timing in weeks, calculated by code from the crop data behind this site's free planner (reviewed August 18, 2026 against university-extension and Square Foot Gardening Foundation sources). Nothing is typed in by hand.

Why are some harvest dates missing?

They are shown only for crops sown or planted straight into the bed. For crops you start indoors, seed packets usually count days to maturity from the day the plant goes outside, so those are left for you to fill in.

Will it work where I live?

It works anywhere with a spring frost. If your garden rarely or never freezes, the frost-date calendars will not fit it.

What paper size is it?

US Letter (8.5 x 11 in). Print at 100% so the grids stay square.

How is it delivered?

Through Gumroad, which handles the payment. Right after checkout you get the PDF to download and print, and a link to the Notion template: open it and click Duplicate to copy it into your own Notion workspace.

Do I need a paid Notion plan for the Notion version?

The template has no charts, so the free plan's chart limit does not apply. You need a Notion account to duplicate it.

Is the free pack going away?

No. The free planner and the free printable pack stay free, with no signup.
