SquareFoot Planner is a free, browser-based garden planner with no login. This policy explains, in plain terms, what happens to your information when you use it. The short version: we do not collect personal data about you, and your garden plans stay on your own device.

No accounts, no sign-up

There is nothing to register for. You never give us a name, email, or password to use the planner, so there is no account database and no personal profile of you on our side.

Your garden plans stay in your browser

When you build a layout, the tool saves it using localStorage - a small storage area that lives inside your own web browser, on your own device. Your plans arenever sent to a server and we cannot see them. Because the data is local to your browser, clearing your browser storage, using a different device, or switching browsers will start you with a fresh, empty planner. If you want to keep a layout, take a screenshot or note it down.

Analytics and ads (may be added later)

The site does not run analytics or advertising at the time this policy was last updated. We may add the following in future, and if we do, they will apply here:

• Google Analytics - to understand basic, aggregated traffic (how many people visit, which pages, roughly where from). This uses cookies and collects usage data such as your approximate location, device, and browser. It does not tell us who you are.
• Google AdSense - to show ads that keep the tool free. AdSense may use cookies to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads based on your prior activity, per Google's settings.

Both are Google services, and your data through them is handled under Google's own policies: the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can manage or opt out of personalised ads at Google My Ad Center, and most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information - and honestly, we do not have any to sell, because we do not collect it. Any data gathered by the Google services above (if enabled) is governed by Google's policies, not shared or sold by us.

Children

This is a general-audience gardening tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we turn on analytics or ads, or otherwise change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
